Klein JV Blue vs. Klein Oak Panthers

JV Blue comes up short in an exciting game to end the season. The Bearkats used a balance offense to put 26 points on the board. Driving with less than two minutes to go in the final period down by 8. The Bearkats turned the ball over on the 20 to close out the game.

Ausmus lit up the Panthers with TD passes to Nave (3 catches) and Abdelrahim and 2 TDs to White.  White had a super game with multiple catches and nice runs after the catch.  Ausmus also connected with Aschenbeck. The running game was all Landor. He ran the ball with power and speed on his way to a great game. The O line did a great job keeping Ausmus upright and opening running lanes for Landor.

The Defense struggled to get off the field for most of the game. The Panthers strong running game powered its way to 34 points. Injuries on D were a factor in the struggle to slow down the Panthers. The D played hard and battled until the end.

Final 34-26 Oak.

Klein Bearkats JV Blue 4-4-1 overall  3-3 in district

JV Gold vs. Klein Oak

By David Upchurch

The JV Gold ended the season with a tough game against Klein Oak. The Kats started with the ball and went 3 and out and then the snap to punter Alex Ables was over his head and out of the endzone for a safety.

Grant Bradley’s kickoff went over the returners head into the endzone for a touchback. Oak’s hurry up, no huddle offense caught the secondary out of position and an uncovered wideout took the pass for the game’s first touchdown. PAT no good, 8-0.

Klein went 3 and out not able to do much with the running game. Then, it only took 2 plays for KO to score again. 15-0.

Another 3 and out and another quick score by the Panthers made it 22-0 after the extra point.

The same 3 and out and TD by the Panthers.

A brief drive by the Kats ended with a sack on Upchurch as he looked for a receiver down field. After the punt the Panthers had a long field but drove the length of it mostly running the ball. The score after the touchdown was 35-0 in the first half.

Klein struggled to stop the offensive attack by KO and they scored again to open the 2nd half.

Klein got going and with some solid runs and short passes. A flag on the Oak defense gave the Kats the ball inside the 5 yd line and Upchurch ran it in for a score.

The rest of the second half had a couple of scores by the Panthers and several drives that stalled by the Kats offense.

Final score was 56-7. It was a rough way to end a good season.

Overall a good 6-3 season in which the Gold team made significant improvement, in skills and developing talent and in teamwork.

Thanks to Coach Suarez and Coach Reichling for their leadership.
