Klein Freshmen Blue update, Thursday October 13th, 2011
The undefeated Klein Freshmen Blue team hosted the Klein Collins Freshmen Navy team on a beautiful Thursday night in Texas. With what may prove to be the District Championship game for both teams the always determined Klein Freshmen Blue team pulled out the win. It was an absolute battle from start to finish. This was the closest game the Klein team has played so far this season. Klein scored first with a quick 5 yard dive play handing the ball off from Quarterback Mac Odom to Tailback Chris Howard. On the ensuing extra point attempt by Kyle Ghetes a high snap caused the holder Mac Odom to scramble past the Klein Collins defenders to the right side of the end-zone for the 2 point conversion. The Klein Collins offense heated up with a few nice runs by their tailback capped off with a score on a very nice 20 yard catch in the corner of the Bearkat end-zone, the 2 point conversion was no good. Klein drove down into the red-zone on 3 separate occasions only to be stopped by the KC defense. Field goal attempts of 30, 25 and 20 yards were wide right, short and good to make the final score 11-6 Klein. Next up Klein at Dekaney Wednesday night October 19th, 2011.
